If you are new to sportsbook technology, the number of components can be confusing. This guide names them and explains how they fit together.

Data feeds

Providers supply events, markets and prices, plus results after matches finish. This data is the raw material.

Pricing and trading

Prices may be used as received or adjusted by trading rules and traders. This is where margin and exposure are managed.

Bet engine

Accepts bets, checks price, limits and balance, and records the result. Under concurrency it must stay consistent.

Risk management

Tracks liability by market and player behaviour, applies limits and raises alerts.

Wallet and payments

Holds balances and records every movement. It connects to payment providers for deposits and withdrawals.

Settlement

Uses results to decide bet outcomes and credit winnings. It must handle corrections.

Player and account services

Registration, identity checks, limits and responsible-gambling tools.

Front ends

Web and mobile apps that present markets and a bet slip. Most of the visible polish lives here.

Back office

Tools for trading, support, finance and compliance teams.

How to use this map

Decide for each block whether to build, license or integrate. Few operators build all of them. Keep the boundaries between blocks clean so you can change one later.
